Chromasens GmbH has released the Corona, an LED line-scan illuminator. Available in lengths of 340 and 680 mm, it can be equipped with white, red, IR, green or blue LEDs with intensity of up to 140,000 lx. An external controller enables the user to regulate the intensity via PC software. The passively cooled modular unit has an aluminum housing. Applications include assembly and production-line inspections, document scanners and print-quality inspection systems, inspection of natural and artificial materials, sorting processes and surface inspection.
