SpectraPhysics.jpgThe Mai Tai eHP DeepSee high-power laser for high-resolution biological imaging, which features full automation and computer control in a compact package, was introduced by Newport Corp.’s Spectra-Physics Lasers Div. According to the company, the instrument delivers 65 per cent higher peak power than its closest competitive system. Its built-in dispersion compensation capability, which counterbalances pulse broadening and delivers short pulses directly to the sample, features a dynamic range at all wavelengths of the tuning range. This function permits remote adjustment of the pulse width upward of 70 fs. The laser is suitable for nonlinearly excited fluorescence applications, including multiphoton microscopy.
