MVTec Software GmbH has announced version 9.0 of its Halcon software, offering faster algorithms and automatic operator parallelization (AOP), matching technologies and 3-D vision techniques. The speed of the entire library has been enhanced by 5 per cent. AOP speed has been increased by >20 per cent. AOP automatically finds the number of available cores and processes multichannel images. The programmer can preselect a region of interest as a free form in the image, and the AOP processes only that area, reducing processing time. The software has new matching technologies, including descriptor-based and perspective deformable matching. Also featured are 3-D object recognition, camera calibration and binocular stereo recognition.
