Ultraportable Thermal Imaging CameraSANTA CLARA, Calif., March 5, 2009 – LumaSense Technologies has released the Mikron MikroShot fully radiometric pocket-size thermal imaging camera.
Its “thermal on visible” mode enables display of radiometric temperature data directly on the visible image. The camera weighs 300 g and uses off-the-shelf batteries, and an AC adapter is included. Its large 2.7-in. display and 160 × 120-pixel resolution allow easy viewing of images. Readout is accurate to ±0.2%.
Ergonomically designed, the imager is easy to grasp and can be operated with one hand. A wrist strap is included.
Features include a measuring range of -20 to 350 °C, an operating temperature range from -15 to 50 °C, color alarm and autofocus at distances from 1.3 m to infinity. The SD card, USB and video output capabilities enable downloading onto a laptop or other mobile device for quick and convenient analysis of the jpeg-format data.
MikroSpec 4.0 software is included for image analysis and reporting. It allows users to view visual images, incorporate them into reports and save the images with their associated thermal image as a single composite in a blended combination. The software allows the user to define temperature ranges and colors to create a three-channel static isotherm or a single-channel dynamic one.
The imager’s spectral range is from 8 to 13 µm, and it operates at a rate of 8.5 fps.
Applications include home and electrical inspection, and the agricultural and power utility industries.
