Nextreme.jpgThe OptoCooler HV14 thermoelectric cooler from Nextreme Thermal Solutions Inc. pumps up to 1.5 W of heat and operates at a maximum voltage of 2.7 V and a peak current of ~1 A. With a 2.8-mm2 footprint, the module creates a temperature differential of up to 51 °C between its hot and cold sides. It is based on a proprietary thermal copper pillar bump, which acts as a solid-state heat pump to add thermal management functionality locally on the surface of a chip or other electrical component.
