Newport.jpgNewport Corp. has announced the ESP301, a motion controller and driver with standard USB and integrated manual front panel interfaces. It drives and controls up to three axes of motion using any combination of DC or two-phase stepper motors up to 3 A per axis. Precise synchronized control is produced by the 64-bit floating point digital signal processor. Accurate velocity profile tracking and positioning are provided by a digital feed-forward pulse interference detector. The 18-bit DC motor command output improves stability. Positioning modes include synchronized and nonsynchronized point-to-point, jogging, linear or circular interpolation, and continuous path contouring.
