PI.jpgPI (Physik Instrumente) LP has launched the N-380 and N-381 Nexact piezo ceramic linear motor actuators based on the company’s Piezo Walk principle. Replacing classical lead-screw actuators by combining high forces and long travel ranges with subnanometer resolution in a small package, they deliver 30-mm travel, 1-kg push/pull force and speeds of 10 mm/s. They offer a self-locking, stiff design with a 1/2-in. front or clamp mount. Nonmagnetic and vacuum-compatible options are available. Applications include nanotechnology and nano-imprinting, microscopy and optics, medical technology, laser tuning, micro- and nanomanipulation, and semiconductor test and production equipment.
