Carl Zeiss MicroImaging Inc. has introduced the LSM 700 mat laser scanning microscope, designed for nondestructive 3-D imaging of surfaces. Its combination of fluorescence and reflection techniques enables the examination of semiconductors, metal, glass and polymers. Combining this system with the proprietary Axio Scope, Imager or Observer microscopes enables performance of various contrasting techniques such as bright- and dark-field, and polarization and fluorescence.
