Fibercore Ltd. has released the HB-C range of bowtie coupler fibres developed to enable the fabrication of high-performance fused-taper, polarization-maintaining (PM) couplers for fibre optic gyroscopes and the fibre sensor sector. The couplers benefit from reduced excess loss and intrinsic spatial filtering when compared with alternative, planar waveguide-based solutions. The HB800C and HB1500C have been designed to be compatible with the company’s industry-standard HB800G and HB1500G gyrofibres, and the series is suitable for manufacturing environments.
