The TRA actuator series precision motorized positioning devices has been introduced by Newport Corp. in a compact lightweight package. Designed to replace micrometer drives in manual stages, it has an integrated optical switch and comes in 6-, 12.5- and 25-mm travel ranges. Available in a DC or stepper motor version, it has a 6-kg load capacity and achieves submicron- and micron-level repeatability. It is compatible with all of the company’s motion controllers as well as with proprietary mirror mounts and various linear stages and goniometers. It is suitable for research, industry and the health sciences.
