A reagent product for use in IR imaging, Smart Gel from Li-Cor Biosciences features a protein electrophoresis technology that offers full range resolution, similar to a gradient gel, of a wide variety of proteins in a continuous gel electrophoresis format. Compatible with Western blot and common stain methods, the substance resolves at 14.2 and 14.4 kDa on a mini-gel, as well as at 3.5 and 212 kDa on the same gel. It is available in premixed 7.5%, 10% and 12.5% solutions in 100- and 500-ml package sizes. The solutions are stable at room temperature for 12 months and are easy to pour, with no stacking gel required.
