PorvairSciences.jpgOptimized for chemiluminescent assays, the Krystal 2000 range of 96-well black and white microplates from Porvair Sciences Ltd. features clear individual wells in an opaque matrix. The design of the polystyrene plates eliminates the well-to-well optical crosstalk, increasing the accuracy, sensitivity and repeatability of photometric readings. The white matrix provides for maximum reflectivity, allowing high-sensitivity luminescent assays, and the black matrix provides a quenching of background fluorescence, reducing false-positives. High signal-to-noise ratios and low detection limits can be achieved in applications such as immunoassays and in enzyme and reporter gene assays. Providing a total well volume of 350 μl, the plates are for use with top- or bottom-reading instruments.
