Amplitude Systèmes has introduced its Tangerine series high-power ultrafast fiber amplifiers. They have more than 20 W of average power, are available in either 10-ps or <700-fs versions and can be customized to special requirements. Beam guiding in the fiber core leads to good spatial beam quality, and efficient heat dissipation through the fiber periphery allows a high average power. The lasers provide >10 μJ of pulse energy from a compact, stable and rugged package. The turnkey system features flexible control electronics and can be used for life sciences applications, micro- and nanomachining, nonlinear optics and nanophotonics.
