ThermoFisher.jpgThe NanoDrop 2000 and 2000c spectrophotometers unveiled by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. are UV-visible and perform 5-s measurement of DNA, RNA and proteins on a sample size down to 0.5 μL. The included software enables users to create custom methods and to design reports and export data. Both instruments use a patented sample retention system that measures microvolume samples directly on a pedestal. The 2000c’s cuvette capability expands the types of samples that can be analyzed on one platform. That model also enables laboratories to run time and temperature studies and to analyze cell cultures and volatile samples.
