Li-Cor Biosciences, in partnership with Molecular Targeting Technologies Inc., has introduced two fluorescence imaging kits for cell membrane labeling. The CellVue Burgundy and NIR815 use proprietary labeling technology that comprises a CellVue dye and a cell-labeling diluent to integrate dye into the phospholipid membranes of cells or other membrane-containing bioparticles by noncovalent interactions. Strong hydrophobic interactions incorporate the dyes rapidly and maintain them stably so that cells can be analyzed immediately and labeled cells tracked for extended periods. The dyes can be used in a variety of in vivo and in vitro cell studies.
