Deformable mirrors

BioPhotonics
Dec 2007
ALPAO SASRequest Info

Alpao’s custom deformable mirrors are made of a continuous membrane that is deformed by a set of miniature voice-coil actuators. Large deformations are possible because there is no contact between the membrane and the coil array. The flexible technology enables the development of mirrors that suit customer requirements for drivers, bandwidth, pupil size, operating wavelength (coating), operating conditions (down to –40 °C), number and position of actuators (Cartesian or hexagonal array), and pitch between actuators (from 1.5 mm to a few millimeters).
