Linos Photonics GmbH & Co. KG has announced the Tristan USB series spectrometers. Fully equipped with a 3648-pixel CCD detector, the devices accomplish power and data transfer through USB port connections. An automatic optimization function ensures that individual device test results for amplitude and dark current are stored with the device, transferred to TRIWin 3.0 program software and used to compensate for device factors, eliminating instrument distortions of measurement results. To avoid saturation and signal distortion, the device automatically selects the most appropriate exposure time, from 3 ms to 16 s. Covering the spectral range from 200 to 1100 nm, each of the four models is optimized for maximum resolution in its spectral range.
