Gilden Photonics Ltd. has introduced fluoroSENS, a single-photon-counting fluorimeter that can achieve 100 million counts per second. For excitation, the device uses a 150-W xenon arc lamp with a 200- to 2600-nm spectral range and >0.1% optical intensity stability. It uses greater than f/4 Czerny-Turner monochromators with 300-mm focal length. The standard device detects in the 185- to 650-nm range, and near-IR detectors are available as an option. It includes an optical signal attenuator and a reference detector for corrected excitation and emission spectra. The company guarantees a 3000:1 signal-to-noise ratio for water Raman spectroscopy. The device comes with control and analysis software.
