The SC-3 subminiature non-MEMS resonant optical scanner, an electromagnetically driven moving mirror device that deflects a light beam with continuous sinusoidal motion, has been unveiled by Electro-Optical Products Corp. Scanning frequency ranges from 100 to 1000 Hz. The 50° scan angle is inversely proportional to the frequency and is a function of the mirror size. Standard operating temperature is from 0 to 55 °C, with other ranges and vacuum operation available upon request. Mirror sizes are 6 mm in diameter, and 7 × 7 and 12 × 7 mm. High flexural stiffness provides good resistance to shock and vibration.
