Avantes BV has announced a new optical bench design integrated into its AvaSpec ULS2048 fiber optic spectrometer. The AvaBench75-ULS2048 has a dual internal mode stripper and multiple compound parabolic concentrators to reduce stray light levels down to 0.04%. The new design features high rigidity, decreasing by a factor of 20 strain sensitivity caused by microbending. Applications include high absorbance unit measurements, long optical path measurements and high optical density measurements. The optical bench and spectrometer are available for OEM integration into other systems, or they can be purchased as separate instruments.
