Cambridge Technology Inc. has released the Smart Direct digital interface protocol and the Smart Connect performance monitoring tools for its self-tuned state space digital servos for high-speed galvo scanning applications. They enable remote installations to benefit from factory support, providing system parametric performance data and long-term performance-monitoring verification over the Internet and in real time. Both interfaces allow monitoring of scanning parameters such as position, temperature, true mirror position, marking error and galvo velocity, voltage, current and power. The Smart Direct suite is available for the DC900 and DC2000 servos, which drive the full range of the company’s 62xx galvos supporting apertures from 3 to >75 mm.
