A white-light test source has been added to the optoelectronic product offerings from Thorlabs Inc. The ASE-FL7001 high-brightness test source produces amplified spontaneous emission ranging from 1530 to 1610 nm. It is constructed from a single erbium-doped fluoride fiber that is optically pumped by a single laser diode. Total output power is >+10 dBm, typical spectral density is >=13 dBm at 1540 to 1600 nm and >=-20 dBm at 1530 to 1610 nm, power stability is <±0.02 dB and operating temperature is 0 to -45 °C.
