Anteryon BV has unveiled its AO540 collimator lens for blue diode lasers. It has a 405-nm wavelength, a 3.3-mm effective focal length, a 3.7-mm diameter and a numerical aperture of 0.45. Consisting of a thin polymer layer over a glass body, the device has an aspherical design to reduce spherical aberrations. Available both with and without a cover plate, the lens is suitable for applications in confocal microscopy, flow cytometry and microarray scanning.
