KMLabs.jpgFrom Kapteyn-Murnane Laboratories Inc., the Wyvern downchirped pulse amplification Ti:sapphire laser provides 20 μJ of power at 100 kHz, pulse durations of less than 50 fs and repetition rates of 50 to 200 kHz in a single-box system. Suitable for nonlinear optics applications, the device emits a 3-mm-diameter beam with an M2 value of <1.3. The company says that compared with chirped pulse amplification lasers, the system is more economical and compact, 45% more efficient and easier to align and maintain.
