BioTek.jpgBioTek Instruments Inc. has unveiled the Synergy 4 multidetection microplate reader. Capable of performing an unlimited number of microplate-based assays, the device combines both filter- and quadruple monochromator-based fluorescence detection technology, which means that the microplate-based assay choice is not restricted by the technology of the reader. The filter-based technology provides optimal light filtering and purification for high sensitivity, as well as rapid wavelength switching and higher read speeds, and the monochromator-based type offers flexible wavelength selection, true spectral scanning and reduced background noise. The instrument also features luminescence, time-resolved fluorescence, fluorescence intensity and polarization, and UV-VIS absorbance for flexibility in the current and future choice of microplate-based assays.
