ReynardCorp.jpgThe apodizing neutral density filters (p/n R01450-00) from Reynard Corp. are part of the Bullseye apodizer line of gradient filters, which eliminate undesirable intensity variations in optical systems. They are customized because uniformity variations, substrate type and bandwidth are a function of the customer’s optical requirements. Their density increases in the radial direction from the outside edge toward the center. The device also can be supplied as an inverse apodizing configuration. It can be applied to various substrates and designed for use from the UV to the far-IR and for any Gaussian function, regardless of the size of the beam. It has applications in imaging, to break up diffraction patterns by the introduction of soft edges.
