Coherent.jpgCoherent Inc. has introduced the OPerA Solo, an optical parametric amplifier that provides tunable ultrafast pulses from the UV through the mid-IR. The amplifier has an integrated construction, with everything from the pump beam conditioning optics through the final harmonic separation optics mounted on a single support structure within the amplifier’s head. Wavelength extension options are contained on computer-controlled motorized mounts. The integrated approach provides short- and long-term stability for pulse energy and pulse wavelength characteristics, and it allows users to rapidly switch between different wavelength regimes. It is suitable for vibrational spectroscopy and for use in pump-probe experiments to study molecular dynamics, atmospheric sensing and photochemistry.
