Photron Inc. has released a high-speed megapixel video camera. The Fastcam SA-1 operates at 5000 fps with full megapixel resolution. CMOS sensor technology allows slow-motion video imaging with 12-bit resolution. It has two memory configurations to choose from: an 8 GB version featuring 6 s of recording time at 1000 full fps, and 16 GB version with 12 s of recording time at 1000 full fps. The high-speed imager has a maximum speed of 150,000 fps at reduced resolution. It supports IRIG and GPS inputs to meet precision time-stamping and synchronization requirements.
