DPSS Lasers Inc. has released the Javelin series diode-pumped solid-state lasers for OEM and research applications, including microscopy, spectroscopy, fluorescence, molecular uncaging and bioparticle detection. Featuring active power control, the devices have repetition rates of 20 to 40 kHz with pulse widths of <10 ns, providing high peak power levels with stable TEM00 operation. The J 355-100 model operates at 355 nm with 100 mW of average power, a 6-ns nominal pulse width, >500-W peak power per pulse and 3.3-μJ pulse energy. Corresponding specifications for the J532-500 are 532 nm, 500 mW, 7.5 ns, >2000 W and 16.6 μJ. For the J 1064-1000 unit, they are 1064 nm, 1 W, 9 ns, >3500 W and 33 μJ. The J 1064-CW laser operates at 1064 nm, with 1-W average power CW and 1-W peak power per pulse.
