Gentec Electro-Optics has launched the Solo 2 laser power and energy meter, which is an enhanced version of its Solo-PE monitor. Measuring 210 × 122 × 44 mm without the stand, the device features an ergonomical shape, a 78× 58-mm digital display, a real-time data transfer rate of 200 Hz, and the ability to read high-repetition-rate energy detectors (with metallic absorbers) up to 3 kHz. The power range of the thermal head is 100 μW to 10 kW, while that of the photodetector head is 4 pW to 3 W. The energy range is 0.1 μJ to 20 kJ. A USB cable is included with the device, and an RS-232 cable can be purchased separately.
