NewportL.jpgThe Hexapod from Newport Corp. is a six-axis micropositioning system driven by six actuators that accommodate the requirements of parallel kinematic systems. The antifriction-coated spherical joint design provides high rigidity and load capacity. The XPS electronic controller masters the synchronized transformations from Cartesian input coordinates to the motion of the Hexapod kinematic members. It features instrument-grade input/output, hardware-based input triggers, event triggers, high-speed on-the-fly data acquisition and fast transmission control protocol/Internet protocol communication. It has a freely definable virtual pivot point that offers flexibility in relocating the pivot point and the entire coordinate system through advanced motion algorithms.
