The FS 102 optical fiber switch for multimode fibers from piezosystem jena GmbH allows fast switching between several measurement channels or between measurement and reference channels in a fiber-coupled spectrometer. The switch can handle fiber core diameters ranging from 100 to 600 µm and has demonstrated <1-dB insertion loss and <250-dB crosstalk. Switching time ranges from 2 to 5 ms, depending on the core diameter, and each switching position has high repeatability and is stable over a wide temperature range. Wavelength range is unlimited, and there is no wavelength-dependent loss in the measurement assembly. Options include fiber connectors, a variety of fiber types, and latching or nonlatching configurations. The switch is suitable for optical measurement systems, fiber optic engineering, laser technologies and telecommunications applications.
