Megapixel Autofocus Camera with Video GREENVILLE, R.I., Nov. 23, 2009 – Videology Imaging Solutions Inc. brings to market an industrial-grade USB megapixel autofocus 10× zoom photo-ID camera. An alternative to temperamental, short-lived Webcams, it is TWAIN-compatible, even in Vista and Windows 7 operating systems, and it works with all major photo-ID software packages.
The compact camera offers a minimum five year life cycle for hardware and software.
The USB 2.0 function is integrated within, so separate hardware is not needed to turn video into USB. Zoom, brightness, white balance and focus are all controlled through the user interface. A 2-megapixel ?-in. progressive-scan CMOS sensor allows for sharp edges.
Constructed of heavy steel, the camera is fully USB 2.0-compliant and is WDM- and DirectX-compatible. There is a software development kit available. OEMs may opt for a durable, mountable tabletop stand with integrated LED lighting. Cool white LEDs replace hot incandescent lights, and they last a hundred times longer.
Features include on/off and dimmer for the LEDs, a 2-megapixel progressive-scan sensor, a flexible gooseneck stand, a small footprint that saves table space, and no shadows or hot spots because of the lighting placement. The power and the USB cable are self-contained.
Display resolution is 1280 × 1024 pixels, and maximum signal-to-noise ratio is <40 dB. Other features include flickerless mode, mirror mode, contour enhancement, auto/manual white balance, manual brightness and auto/manual iris.
