Andor Technology plc has announced that its Clara interline CCD camera now offers improved performance. Based on Sony’s 1.3-megapixel ICX285 sensor, the camera produces typical read noise of 2.4 e at 1 MHz and features cooling to —55 °C with an internal fan only, and to —20 °C when the fan is off. The active area is 1392 x 1040 mm, the pixel size is 6.45 x 6.45 µm, and the image area is 8.98 x 6.71 mm. Operating at a rate of 11.6 fps, it offers 1-, 10- and 20-MHz readout speeds. It has a standard dynamic range of >6000:1 at 1 MHz and is suitable for high-resolution cell microscopy and OEM applications.
