WATERLOO, Ontario, May 3, 2010 — Dalsa Corp. has introduced the BOA M1280 high-resolution smart camera for single point machine vision inspection applications. It offers good image quality at 1280 × 960-pixel resolution and operates at up to 24 fps for use in quality inspection and factory automation.
The company says that the high-resolution sensor provides greater measurement accuracy and can distinguish very small features that, if missed, could render a product defective. The camera is an all-in-one machine vision solution that is easy to use and flexible. It incorporates multiple processing engines, enabling algorithm optimization via digital signal processing, application management via a central processing unit and sensor management via FPGA.
It offers truly embedded application software, which is easily set up through a standard web browser. There is no software to install, and therefore no version control problems. The camera has a rugged, easy-to-mount enclosure, built-in factory communications, and a low deployment cost.
The M1280 monochrome version is available immediately, and a complementary color version will be available later in the year.
