UVP LLC has announced an upgrade to its PhotoDoc-It imaging system
for visualizing gel images. Users now can observe fluorescent gels in the system
via the view-port window, which is mounted into the hood and which blocks ultraviolet
light, allowing users to see the gels safely when illuminated by the UV transilluminator.
The system includes a high-resolution 8-megapixel digital color camera for capturing
color images, and a small color printer connects directly to the camera to supply
102 x 152-mm prints. It can be attached to the lightweight hood that sits on the
transilluminator. The stand-alone system does not require a computer.
