ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 25, 2010 — The Imaging Solutions Group has introduced its new Finger Lakes smart camera line. The cameras support both GigE Vision and Camera Link interfaces, as well as the Kodak KAI CCD family.

Starting with a 16-megapixel version (7.4-µm pixel size) the cameras will support all of Kodak’s 5.5-µm CCD sensors. Additional sensors from other manufactures may be used in the future.

The cameras have a workstation-class high-performance Linux CPU and a large field-programmable gate array. External triggering and strobe functions are integrated along with an NTSC composite video output and two USB2 interfaces. A low-noise analog front end and the Kodak CCDs provide high-quality images.

Users can program advanced imaging algorithms in C++ and run them on the Linux CPU, enabling easy customization and video analytic capabilities. Applications include machine vision, security and surveillance, and other government and military applications.
