An adapter port is incorporated into the stage assembly for the inspection of oversized or custom connectors. The microscope can inspect single- and multifiber connectors from 40x to 800x, and higher magnifications are possible with closed-circuit television. A centering mechanism locates the ferrule ends of connectors for examination.
