Opto Diode Corp. has announced the ODA-5W-100M
photodetector amplifier combination with 100 megaohm gain, suitable for fluorescence,
spectroscopy and low-light-level tasks where electrical noise can affect the photodiode
signal if the detector and amplifier are separate components on a printed circuit
board. It is packaged in a standard TO-5 can and has visible wavelength responsivity
of 40 V/μW at 660 nm. Its preamp frequency response is 1 kHz with low dark
offset at ±1 mV and dark offset noise at 5 mV rms. It operates from ±15
V at 25 ºC.
