The a-Series Data Acquisition Processors from Microstar Laboratories
Inc., which feature a multitasking real-time operating system, were designed
to complement and eventually replace the e-Series boards. The first model,
DAP 3000a/212, offers an on-board 486 processor that runs at 48 MHz and
has a high-speed hardware multiplier for excellent digital signal processing
and control performance. It includes 2 MB of on-board memory and high-speed
FIFO buffers that bypass DMA hardware on the PC.
