Varioptic SA has launched an addition to its Arctic
series of autofocus lenses. Suitable for low-footprint camera modules, such as slim
camera phones, the Arctic 416 can obtain sharp, crisp focus in about 300 ms with
a focus range of 6 cm to infinity. The lens is 7.75 x 1.6 mm in size, has an optical
format of 1/4 in., and consumes a maximum of 200 μA of power.
