Veeco Instruments Inc. has unveiled the ContourGT Surface Metrology product family, its 10th generation of noncontact, 3-D optical surface profilers. Based on proprietary white-light interferometry technology, the devices feature patented higher brightness and dual-LED illumination. They produce fast angstrom-to-millimeter vertical resolution over large fields of view, with flexible sample setup and good repeatability to enable precision measurements, even in difficult applications. Featuring 64-bit multi-core computer operation with the company’s Vision64 operating and analysis software, and an intuitive, modular user interface, the profilers are designed to increase yield and decrease manufacturing costs. They are suitable for use in production quality assurance/control and R&D machining and manufacturing applications within the high-brightness LED, solar, ophthalmic, semiconductor, medical device and academic research markets.
