A new GigE vision interface has been released by MVTec Software GmbH for its Halcon standard machine vision software. Tested with numerous cameras, the interface has been validated as GigE vision-compliant. It provides the benefits of Ethernet protocol while employing a specific filter driver under Windows for enhanced performance. It integrates the latest version of the programming and configuration interface standard GenICam and does not need frame grabbers for image acquisition. It is available for Windows and Linux as well as for x64 architectures.
