IRnova has launched a series of detector Dewar cooler assembly modules based on its quantum well infrared detector technology. Suitable for military and industrial infrared imaging applications in harsh environments, the modules are integrated into IR cameras and systems. The IRnova640 and IRnova320-ER devices are equipped with rotary integral coolers and can be provided with proxy electronics. Their standard peak spectral response is 8.6 μm, but it can be tailored to meet specific customer needs and application requirements, as can the detector electronics.

detector
1. A device designed to convert the energy of incident radiation into another form for the determination of the presence of the radiation. The device may function by electrical, photographic or visual means. 2. A device that provides an electric output that is a useful measure of the radiation that is incident on the device.
infrared detector
A device used to detect radiation from the infrared region. It may be a thermal detector, such as a bolometer, thermocouple or Golay cell, or it may be a solid-state photon detector. Infrared-sensitive phosphors may be used in the infrared, and some photographic films may be used in the very near infrared.
spectral response
Measure of a detector's signal during exposure to radiation of a constant power level and varying wavelength.
