Request InfoRiegl USA Inc.ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 6, 2010 — Riegl Laser Measurement Systems GmbH has released its latest state-of-the-art airborne laser scanner, the LMS-Q680i for FAA rotocraft. It uses reduced laser power to achieve the Class 1 rating dictated by FAA policy. The risk to a person in the area around the laser scanner is zero. The company says that, under foreseeable typical operational modes for actual airborne surveying with the LMS-Q680i aboard a rotorcraft, there is no hazard from the laser emission for observers on the ground or for the crew. This system has the same 266,000 measurements at the ground performance.
