Ortel Corp. has introduced two broadband photodiodes, models 2611A and 2609C, with internal gain designed for use in AM-VSB CATV, QAM 64/256, PON, FTTC and FTTH receivers. Both photodiodes feature linearity from 40 MHz to 1 GHz and an extended frequency range to 1 GHz for greater flexibility. They provide high responsivity over a broad operating wavelength for use in short- and long-haul fiber optic transport systems designed for 1310-nm, 1550-nm or WDM applications.
