Craic Technologies has released the QDI 2010 UV-VIS-NIR microspectrophotometer for analysis of microscopic biological systems. The device can measure samples as small as a micron by absorbance, reflectance, polarization anisotropy, fluorescence and chemiluminescence. It allows direct study of cellular components and dynamics, and development of biological tags based upon fluorophores, quantum dots or surface plasmon resonance. The device can acquire spectra in about a millisecond with long-term stability and low noise because of its cooled CCD array detector. It incorporates high-resolution digital imaging, several automation features and analytical software.
