The ELS-900 and -1150 electro-optic liquid level sensors from Gems Sensors & Controls Inc. is suitable for use in medical diagnostic, sterilizer, washer and dialysis equipment. The plastic ELS-900 series, which features a polyethersulfone housing and prism, is less than 1.3 in. long, can operate in temperatures from —40 to 257 °F and can handle pressures up to 250 psi. The alloy ELS-1150, which is less than 1.4 in. long, has a stainless/carbon steel-fused glass prism design, enabling it to perform in temperatures up to 212 °F and under pressures up to 2500 psi.
