The JenLas D2.fs are diode-pumped thin-disk medical and industrial femtosecond lasers available from RPMC Lasers Inc. at 4 and 10 W with pulse widths as short as 400 fs at repetition rates up to 200 kHz. They produce maximum pulse energy of 200 µJ at 50 kHz and 100 µJ at 100 kHz, with an emission wavelength of 1030 nm.
The lasers incorporate the use of a fiber seed oscillator and produce ultrashort pulses with high energy and consistent high beam quality. They can generate microstructures in organic tissue without causing any relevant thermal heat input.
The 4-W model delivers pulse energy of 40 µJ, a pulse width of 400 fs, a repetition rate from 30 to 200 kHz and beam quality of M2 1.25. The 10-W model features pulse energy of 200 µJ, pulse width of 500 fs, the same repetition rate, and beam quality of M2 1.5.
Both feature an OEM design for integration, and water- or air-cooled versions are available.
Applications include high-precision micromachining, spectroscopy, microsurgery, thin-film ablation and others where peak energy and precision are required. The high repetition rates combined with the high beam quality enable micromachining and microstructuring of materials without causing thermal side effects. The stable design of the lasers allows them to achieve long-term balanced operation and to accommodate temperature variances.
