The VS7000 back-thinned CCD miniature spectrometer from Horiba Jobin Yvon Inc. exhibits high speed, ultralow stray light, high UV sensitivity and a high dynamic range. The preconfigured ultraviolet/visible/ near-infrared miniature spectrometer has an uncooled back-illuminated linear CCD with ultralow etaloning in the near-IR and USB 2 integrated electronics for OEM applications that require sturdy optomechanical designs for long-term stability. Quantum efficiency is 65% at 250 nm, >90% at 650 nm and 70% at 850 nm. The CCD is ~300 μm high, with a 300-μm-diameter fiber. Typical dynamic range is 5600:1 at 1 MHz. The f/3 device is supplied with LabView-based acquisition software and is suitable for use in low-light, high signal-to-noise-ratio applications.
